Synopsis
Identity Kaleidoscope is a solo interactive drag-cabaret performance that fuses clowning, mime, lip-sync, and digital projection to explore the complexities of queer and biracial identity through humour, storytelling and body language. Entirely non-verbal, the show unfolds in episodic vignettes where a clown navigates belonging, gender expression, and cultural confusion, using laughter as both a bridge and a question. Playful at first, the piece builds toward a whirlwind of projections, voiceovers, and social commentary, revealing how identity can be both celebreated and constrained by how it's seen.
Through physical comedy, visual storytelling and responsive projections that shift with the live performance, Identity Kaleidoscope moves between moments of joy, absurdity and unease. The audience are never passive, they are teased, implicated, and ultimately carry the performer to the final line of the show, ensuring that each performance is unique and alive. Distinctive for its fusion of drag, clown, and live digital scenography, the piece becomes both liberation and limitation.
