Synopsis

The Washing Line is a powerful retelling of the rise of Jim Jones and The People’s Temple, in the harrowing days leading up to the massacre in Jonestown.

Focusing on the temple’s move to Guyana, The Washing Line is a gritty, poignant and much needed performance about choice, social injustice, and the abuse of power. It draws parallels with our society today, and calls on the audience to never forget the consequences of unchecked power.

The Washing Line was first performed in 2022.
